    Speaking to the segment on Mechanical Engineering, for the most part very specific areas are mentioned as if they are different from the other areas. In reality Mechanical Engineering consists of the following core areas: Materials Science (Formerly called Metallurgy), Solid Mechanics (The behavior of solids when subjected to loads and strains. It also includes Statics and Dynamics), Fluid Mechanics (the behavior of fluid motion), Thermodynamics (the behavior of heat energy) and Fracture Mechanics (Which is the behavior of defects in materials and includes fatigue.). All of the specific areas that you mention contain a mixture of two or more of these disciplines. There is a joke amongst Materials Scientists that we are the second oldest profession amongst humans. After all, haven't you heard of the Bronze Age? I will let you figure out what the oldest profession is.

I’ve heard it is like a mix of biomedical and chemical engineering but also different enough to have its own category. It often deals with cells, manipulation of genes, development of medicines and weird stuff like that.

    So,what is the differences between Quantum physics and String Theory?Does someone know about it?

    • @lepidoptera9337
      @lepidoptera9337 10 часов назад

      Quantum physics is a general framework that contains an infinite number of possible "implementations". String theory is a specific subset of choices of quantum mechanical systems. It's probably still a very large set, some estimates are on the order of 10^500, but that's probably a very naive estimate. I wouldn't be surprised if somebody would eventually find a way to whittle that down to a much smaller number of possible "physical" solutions. The same is true for quantum field theories, by the way. We have a very large number of possible choices there, as well, but we know experimentally that nature has chosen one of the most simple ones, we just don't know why it has chosen that one. At least not, yet.

    Maybe the best answer one can consider giving to a kid to the question "Why things exist?" should start with "because". From what I know the ultimate past and ultimate future of everything (physical universe) is its maximum state of entropy, a state where reality is so simple and homogeneous as it can be, and in a sense can be called nothingness. That state seems inevitable and if we follow all casuality chain of the whole chronology of time we probably start and end in that same point of nothingness. Things probably exist because the fundamental characteristic of existence is that it gets to know a bit of itself through a continuous process of differentiation (to distinguish) and recognition (for self-similarity). Eventually, we arise as humans: to see the beauty of the world and experience its unbeliavable delights. For most, coming to an end is the ultimate peace, and one of the greatest pleasures to experience in life. Good luck, and go figure it!

    All the data and information we need exists . it is everywhere, nothing is hidden, the problem is our mental perception, interpretation and imagination. The universe shows itself as it is, but we see it and think at the same time. We create our own reality, we don't see it as it is.

    Great video. I think it’s time to question quantum field theory. I’m not sold on the virtual particle exchange model at all - it might be a useful model but I don’t think it’s what is happening. That way we can scrap the need for a graviton and thereby quantum gravity. Light is not quantised other than it’s generation and destruction which is related to quantum events that naturally arise from a quantum energy structure within matter. If light is otherwise analog, then gravity is also analog. To me GR is the correct model - it just feels right - if we didn’t have QFT would we need to quantise it? By the way I think the pixel nature of space time is a nice concept- it’s like the fundamental resolution of the simulation we might be in - they just didn’t figure we’d get to the resolution limit without destroying ourselves (again) in the process. It’s fascinating that we might never unpack everything …
